ቅዋም ኤርትራ እንደገና ይጸሓፍ ወይ ይመሓየሽ?

 

ናይ ኤርትራ ሽግር ኣብቲ ዝለዓለ ጽፍሒ ናይ ታሪኻዊ ትንተናን ነብሰ ምምርማር በጺሑ ኣሎ። ኣብ ውሽጢ ገዛ ኤርትራውያን እቲ “ታሪኽ ዘይፈልጥ ንታሪኽ ክደግም ይነብር” ዝብሃል ኣቲዩ ኣጣጢሑ ይርከብ። ስለዚ ከኣ እዚ ነብሰ ምምርማርን ታሪኽ ምድላይን ንቑሩብ እዋን ክቕጽል እዩ። ኤርትራን ኤርትራውያንን ኣብ ዝኸፈአ ኩነት ይርከቡ ኣለዉ። ካብ ስምባደን ከመይ ጌሩ ንዓና ከምዚ የጋጥም ዝብል ምስድማምን ምህዳእን ቀጺሉ ናብ ሓቂ ምድላይ ቀሊል ኣይኮነን። እቲ ተስፋ ሓያል እቲ ውድቀት ስጡም ኮይኑ። እቲ ግዳይ ድማ ከመይን ስጋብ ክንደይ ንታሕቲ ከምዝወደቕ ስለዘይፈለጠ ነቲ ምድህላል ኣጋዲድዎ። ብቐጻሊ ናይ ግዝኣታት ብኽፉእ ምትሓዝን፡ ቀጻሊ ወግእን ምምዝባልን፡ ኣብ ምስጢር ዝተመስረተ ሙሉእ ቁጽጽር ኣብ ዝገብር ኣገባብ ኣሰራርሓ ተመቚሑ ይርከብ።

ንሕጂ ኣብታ ናይ ቦብ ዲላን ዝበሃል ናይ 60ታት ደራፋይ ብዛዕባ ናይ ቪየትናይ ኲናት ዝበላ፡ “ክንደይ ዓመት ክወስድ እዩ ክሳብ ብዙሓት ከምዝሞቱ ዝፈልጥ? እቲ ሕቶ ኣብቲ ዝነፍስ ንፋስ ኣሎ” ንግደፎ።

እቲ መልሲ ኤርትራውያን ሎሚ ዓቢይ ሃገር፡ ሲንጋፖርን (ነዚ ድሓር መዓልቲ ክንምለሶ ኢና) ርእስኻ ምኽኣል ኣይኮነን ዘድልዮም። እንታይ ድኣ ሰላምን ብልጽግናን፡ ምስ ጎረባብቲ ብዘይ ሻራ ዝነብር፡ ናብ ምህናጽን ነፍስ ወከፍ ዜጋ ባዕሉ ዝመረጾ ህይወት ዘካይደላ ሃገር እያ ተድሊ። እዚኸ እንተተረኽበ ንኽከላኸሉሉ ቅሩባት ድዮም? ከመይ ጌሩኸ ኣብ ግብሪ ይወዕል? ካልኦት ደሞክራስያውያን ብኸመይ የተግብርዎ? እዚ ሕቶ እዚ ንዝፈልጥን ክፈልጥ ንዘደሊን ዲሞክራሲ ከምዝሰርሕ ንኽመሃር ሓቦ ዘለዎ ዜጋ ይሓትት።

The Eritrean problem is now at the above stages of historical analysis and inward soul searching. It is clear that finally “those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it” has come home repeatedly. That is why the soul and historical searches will go on for some time to come. It is an abominable situation that Eritrea and Eritreans find themselves in. It is not easy to go from denial, to shock and horror and then calm and search for the truth. The promise was high and the downfall abysmal and harder as the victim did not even know how far and how long he/she has fallen. Weakened by years of harsh overbears, continued wars and dislocation, a controlling mechanism in a system of secrets became easy to enforce.

For now let us leave it with Bob Dylan’s song of the Vietnam War. “How many years will it take till he knows that too many people have died, the answer my friends is blowing in the wind, the answer is blowing in the wind.”

The answer is Eritreans do not need to be a great nation, or a Singapore (more to come on that) or a land of self reliance. Eritrea just needs to a nation of peace, prosperity, neutral to its neighbors, ready to build, and a place where each citizen can be free to lead a life chosen individually. For this the citizens are they ready to defend it? How can it be enforced? How do other democracies do it? This is a question that needs an informed audience as much as courage to admit the need to learn how to make a democracy work.
